Donkey rides & Jesus’ story

On Palm Sunday Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, every year we remember this special event with a celebratory service. This year we shall have our very own donkey attending! Children will then have the chance to take their own donkey ride.

So come join us, whatever your age and regardless of if you have been to church before – we’d love to welcome you.

Palm Sunday will be the start of our Easter services and events, keep an eye out for what else we have going on.

25th March, from 10am.

St Paul’s Church & Community Centre
Smannell Road, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 6JP.

What is Palm Sunday?

Easter is a time of celebration and joy but also reflection – it commemorates Jesus’ death and resurrection.

At St Michael’s and St Paul’s we have a number of services to mark these history changing events – we aim to bring them alive for you, in ways to suit all ages.

St Paul’s, Smannell Road:

Mothering Sunday, 11 March 10 am

Celebrating our mothers! Daffodils will be given out to show our appreciation for all that they do.

Palm Sunday, 25th March from 10 am

Starring our very own donkey, come and learn about Palm Sunday – children get a chance to ride the donkey afterwards!

Easter Sunday, 1st April from 10 am

Beginning outside with a fire (weather permitting!), then moving inside for an all age Easter celebration.

St Micheal’s, Knights Enham:

Palm Sunday, 25th March, 8.15 am

Traditional service marking Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, it will feature palm crosses.

Evening Prayers, 26th, 27th & 28th March, 6pm

Join us for these special times of prayer and reflection – also known as Compline, meaning prayers at the end of the day.

Reflective Service, 30th March, 2pm

Remembering Jesus’ death, this is a quiet service of contemplation.

Easter Sunday, 1st April, 8.15 am

Traditional service celebrating Jesus’ resurrection.

From March children attending services at St Paul’s will be able to enjoy their own group during the 2nd & 4th Sunday services. Our children’s activities at St Paul’s will present Jesus, the church and the Bible in relevant ways that your child can connect with – using the same themes as in the main service. (Children can stay in the service with you if you prefer.)

For little ones, we will have a supervised crèche during services at St Paul’s. Your child can enjoy activity sheets which mirror our service themes. Until then, children can use space at the back of church, parents/carers can watch them but still be part of the service.

Our ‘Everyone Welcome’ service is for all ages, you are invited to stay for refreshments at the end – it’s on the 1st Sunday of every month.

St Paul’s services are at 10am.

So come join us, your entire family will be warmly welcomed!

But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19: 14
